Thank goodness Break Week is coming quickly. I am exhausted. Here are the plans, which will be carried out over the next two weeks, along with a few adventures I’ll record later.<\/p>\n
Rejoice: Quiet for me, with Bible and prayer\u00a0and writing something and planning. Writing morning pages and writing down a concrete plan for the day are working together to help me focus and refocus frequently thought the day.<\/p>\n
Relate: We\u00a0are switching artists this month.\u00a0We are done with Rembrandt for the moment, and we’ll look at the art of\u00a0Thomas Gainsborough<\/a>. \u00a0And We’ll continue reading about\u00a0Beethoven\u00a0in\u00a0The Story of Beethoven<\/a>, and we’ll listen to the Ninth Symphony<\/a><\/p>\n Remember: We have new things to memorize this month, including Psalm 1,\u00a0Jabberwocky<\/a>\u00a0by Lewis Carroll, the Shaker song\u00a0Simple Gifts<\/a>, and the hymn\u00a0Nothing But the Blood of Jesus<\/a>\u00a0(those links are all to YouTube videos we’ll watch at some point).<\/p>\n Reason: We’ll continue with math and grammar as we have been. And one boy will continue with his study of JavaScript and Electronics.<\/p>\n Read:\u00a0We’ll read bits of\u00a0The World of Captain John Smith<\/em>,\u00a0Wild Animals I Have Known<\/em>,\u00a0Pilgrim’s Progress<\/em>, Plutarch’s\u00a0Publicola<\/em>,\u00a0Trial and Triumph<\/em>, and\u00a0Treasure Island<\/em>. (Short lessons mean that we’ll be spending 15-20 minutes on each of those, so that list isn’t as long as it seems like.)\u00a0It is time to change poets, so we will start with this book of poems<\/a> by\u00a0William Blake<\/a>\u00a0 . We need to listen again to\u00a0Henry V<\/em>\u00a0Act 2<\/a>, and when we finish\u00a0Treasure Island<\/em>\u00a0(still hopefully this week), we’ll start on\u00a0Robin Hood.<\/em><\/p>\n Record:\u00a0The younger boys will do copywork and an IEW lesson. The older guy has plenty of work to do for an upcoming debate, and we all need to add to timelines and such.<\/p>\n Restore: There are plans to be at tae kwon do at least twice this week, and I’ll teach Latin for moms\u00a0one evening.\u00a0I’m also going to book club one evening.
